Electro-Dermal Screening (EDS)

Bioenergetic assessment to evaluate organ function and identify the remedies your body responds to best.

What is Electro-Dermal Screening?

Electro-Dermal Screening (EDS), also known as Electroacupuncture According to Voll (EAV), is a non-invasive bioenergetic assessment technique that measures electrical conductivity at specific acupuncture points on the hands and feet. This information provides insights into the functional status of organs and body systems, helping guide personalized treatment recommendations.

Developed by German physician Dr. Reinhold Voll in the 1950s, EDS has been used by integrative practitioners worldwide for decades. At AIMC, we use EDS as one of many assessment tools to help customize your integrative cancer care protocol.

How EDS Works

The human body generates subtle electrical signals that can be measured at specific points on the skin. EDS technology measures these signals at acupuncture points that correspond to different organs and systems.

Measurement Process

A small, painless probe is placed on specific acupuncture points while you hold a grounding electrode. The device measures electrical conductivity at each point.

Reading Interpretation

Readings indicate the energetic status of corresponding organs - whether they show signs of stress, inflammation, or degeneration at an energetic level.

Remedy Testing

Various supplements, homeopathics, and remedies can be tested to see how your body responds energetically, helping identify the most compatible treatments.

Individualized Results

EDS helps personalize your treatment by identifying which remedies your individual body responds to most favorably.

Applications for Cancer Patients

EDS can provide valuable information to help customize your integrative cancer care:

  • Organ Assessment: Evaluate the energetic status of organs affected by cancer or treatment
  • Remedy Selection: Identify which supplements, homeopathics, or botanicals your body responds to best
  • Toxicity Evaluation: Assess the body's toxic load and identify areas needing detoxification support
  • Treatment Monitoring: Track changes in energetic patterns over time during treatment
  • Sensitivity Testing: Screen for potential sensitivities to foods, environmental factors, or medications
  • Customized Protocols: Fine-tune your integrative treatment plan based on individual responses

What to Expect During Testing

Before Your Appointment
  • Remove all jewelry and watches
  • Avoid applying lotion to hands and feet
  • Stay well-hydrated
  • Bring a list of current supplements and medications
During the Session

The testing session typically takes 30-60 minutes:

  • You'll sit comfortably holding a brass cylinder in one hand
  • The practitioner gently places a probe on acupuncture points on your other hand and feet
  • Each point is measured, with readings displayed on a screen
  • Various remedies may be tested to see how your body responds
  • The process is completely painless and non-invasive
After Testing

Dr. Stallone will review the findings with you and explain how they inform your treatment recommendations. EDS results are considered alongside other clinical information including your history, symptoms, and conventional lab work.

Understanding EDS in Context

EDS is a complementary assessment tool that provides additional information to help guide treatment decisions. It is not a diagnostic test for cancer or any disease, and it does not replace conventional medical testing such as imaging, blood work, or biopsy.

We use EDS as one piece of the puzzle in creating your personalized integrative care plan. The information it provides about your body's energetic responses to various remedies can be valuable in fine-tuning your protocol for optimal results.

Benefits of EDS Assessment

  • Completely non-invasive
  • No radiation or needles
  • Painless and comfortable
  • Results available immediately
  • Helps personalize treatment
  • Can test multiple remedies
  • Useful for monitoring progress
  • Complements other assessments
